Titus was the Roman general who besieged Jerusalem and destroyed the Second Beis HaMikdash in the year 70. He later became emperor of Rome.

The Gemara (Gittin 56b) says that Titus the wicked entered the Holy of Holies with great arrogance, cut the paroches, and took the Temple vessels on a ship to Rome. A storm came up at sea and he blasphemed against Hashem.

According to the Gemara, Hashem sent a tiny gnat that entered his nose and pecked at his brain for seven years. After his death they opened his skull and found the gnat had grown to the size of a bird weighing two sela'im (Gittin 56b).
