Rus (Ruth) רות

Rus, a Moabite, married Machlon, Naomi's son. After her husband's death she would not leave her mother-in-law, saying: 'Where you go I will go... your people are my people and your G-d my G-d' (Rus 1:16).

They came to Beis Lechem at the start of the barley harvest, and Rus gleaned in Boaz's field (ch. 2). Boaz married her, and they had Oved, father of Yishai, father of Dovid (4:13–22). Megillas Rus is read on Shavuos.
