Hamantaschen ("Haman pockets"; in Hebrew oznei Haman, "Haman's ears") are triangular filled cookies associated with Purim, named for the villain of the Megillah. Traditional fillings include poppy seed and fruit preserves; today bakeries offer every flavor imaginable, and they are a fixture of mishloach manos.
