HASC is a New York Jewish nonprofit for children with special needs, known for Camp HASC and the "A Time for Music" concert.
The Hebrew Academy for Special Children (HASC) was founded in 1963 by Rabbi Max and Blanche Kahn to provide educational and clinical services to people with developmental delays from infancy through adulthood; it is directed by Samuel Kahn.
It serves over 1,000 children at six New York-area locations, runs a school in Woodmere, early-intervention through school-age programs, Camp HASC and assisted-living apartments. It is best known for its annual "A Time for Music" benefit concert, held since 1988 at venues like Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall and Madison Square Garden — called "the Jewish Music Super Bowl" by Benny Friedman — featuring stars like Mordechai Ben David and Avraham Fried.
