The bekishe (bekeshe, beketche) is a kaftan, usually of black silk or polyester, worn by Chasidim and some non-Chasidic Charedim, mainly on Shabbos, holidays and at weddings. During the week many wear a rekel, a longer double-breasted wool or polyester coat.

Chasidic rebbes who wear a bekishe during the week wear a more ornate one on Shabbos, often lined with velvet or in a color besides black. With the shtreimel and gartel, it completes the classic Shabbos look of a Chasid.
