Manischewitz מאנישעוויץ

Manischewitz is a kosher brand founded in 1888 in Cincinnati by Rabbi Dov Behr Manischewitz, best known for matzo and kosher wine. Before then matzo was baked in synagogue ovens or small bakeries and was hard for poorer families to obtain; Manischewitz designed a machine to cut and bake matzo in an easily packaged form, making it cheaper and widely available. By 1926 it was described as the largest matzo firm. Today it is the world's largest matzo manufacturer, one of America's largest kosher brands, the first American exporter of matzo, and part of the Kayco group.
