Fix / add information

Kugel is a baked casserole, most commonly made from egg noodles (lokshen kugel) or shredded potato (kartofl kugel), and a traditional Ashkenazi dish for Shabbos and holidays. Once baked in round pots, it is now often made in square pans.

Over generations many varieties developed, including sweet noodle kugels with raisins, cinnamon and cheese. In the late 19th century in Jerusalem, caramelized sugar and black pepper were combined in a noodle kugel — Kugel Yerushalmi — now a staple at Shabbos kiddushes and a classic side to cholent.
