Hebron Yeshiva (Knesses Yisroel) ישיבת חברון – כנסת ישראל
The yeshiva that moved from Slabodka to Hebron in 1924, today in Jerusalem.
Fix / add informationHebron Yeshiva (Yeshivas Hevron, or Knesses Yisroel) began in 1924 when the roshei yeshiva and 150 students of the Slabodka Yeshiva, "the mother of yeshivas", relocated to Hebron after a Lithuanian edict required military enlistment or secular studies. The Alter of Slabodka, Rabbi Nosson Tzvi Finkel, sent Rabbi Avraham Grodzinski to lead the group and found the yeshiva. It later relocated to Jerusalem, where it still bears the name Hebron.
