Chaverim חברים

Chaverim is an umbrella name for Orthodox Jewish volunteer organizations worldwide providing free roadside assistance and non-medical emergency help. It was started in Monsey, New York, by Rabbi Shaya Zev Erps in July 1999; Boro Park Chaverim alone has logged over 100,000 calls. Volunteers unlock homes and cars, fix flats, boost batteries, free stuck cars, bring gas, help with burst pipes and even drive families to weddings in snowstorms.
