Shimon שמעון

Shimon was born to Yaakov and Leah (Bereishis 29:33). He and Levi struck the city of Shechem after the incident with Dina (34:25). In Egypt Yosef held Shimon as surety until the brothers brought Binyomin (42:24).

Yaakov mentioned Shimon and Levi together: 'I will divide them in Yaakov and scatter them in Israel' (49:5–7). Shimon's portion lay within Yehuda's (Yehoshua 19:1).
