Her grave on the road to Beis Lechem is Kever Rochel.

Le texte complet n'est pas encore traduit; il est affiché en anglais.

Rochel was Lavan's younger daughter. Yaakov met her at the well (Bereishis 29:9–12) and worked seven years for her, which 'seemed to him like a few days because of his love for her' (29:20). But Lavan gave Leah first. Chazal say Rochel gave Leah the secret signs so she would not be shamed (Megillah 13b).

For many years she had no children, until Hashem remembered her and Yosef was born (30:22–24). She died giving birth to Binyomin on the road to Efrat (Beis Lechem) and was buried there (35:16–20).

The prophet says: 'Rochel weeps for her children' — and Hashem answers: 'Hold back your voice from weeping... your children will return to their border' (Yirmiyahu 31:14–16). To this day Jews come to pray at Kever Rochel.
