Fix / add informationRabbi Elchonon Bunim Wasserman (1874–1941) was rosh yeshiva of Ohel Torah in Baranovich and a close student of the Chofetz Chaim. His "Kovetz Shiurim" and "Kovetz He'aros" are basic texts in every yeshiva. He was killed al kiddush Hashem in Kovno in 1941.

Student of two giants
Rabbi Elchonon was born in 1874 in Birzh, Lithuania [1]. He learned under Reb Chaim Brisker, whose sharp analytical method he absorbed, and was a foremost student of the Chofetz Chaim [1].
Baranovich
At the Ohel Torah yeshiva in Baranovich he raised hundreds of students [1]. His "Kovetz Shiurim" on Shas are short, clear and deep, a key to almost any sugya.
Al kiddush Hashem
In summer 1941 he was taken with his students in Kovno and killed al kiddush Hashem [1]. His last recorded words were a talk to his students about accepting kiddush Hashem with a pure mind. Hashem yinkom damo.
