Ishay Ribo ישי ריבו

Ishay Ribo was born on February 3, 1989 in Marseille, France, to a traditional Sephardi family whose parents had come to France from Morocco and Algeria. When he was about eight and a half, the family moved to Israel and became fully Torah-observant. He studied at a Haredi Talmud Torah in Jerusalem and later at yeshivot in Kiryat Sefer and Gilo.

Ribo writes his own lyrics and melodies, full of faith, prayer and inner feeling. He has released five studio albums; two were certified gold and one platinum, rare for an Orthodox artist. What sets him apart is how widely he is heard: Haredi, national-religious and secular Israelis all sing his songs. He performs major concerts in Israel and has toured the United States.
