You open WhatsApp in the morning just to see who posted a status. A minute later it's nine-thirty.
There's a site called YidStatus that collects public WhatsApp statuses from heimish creators. It lists 369 of them. We took a look at what's going around right now [1].
A Frying Pan, an Egg, and Q-pods
[Yanky Schwartz](/entry/yanky-schwartz) and [Shuki Jungreis](/entry/shuki-jungreis) both posted almost the same scene. A guy sits in a car holding a frying pan next to his face, with an egg in it. In Yanky's clip he eats out of the pan while talking. In Shuki's, the egg gets tossed in the air at the end. Both are captioned "Q-pods" [1][2]. Yanky Schwartz also posted a promo for his song "Rozel" [1].
[Yanky Israel](/entry/yanky-israel) makes faces in a car under the caption "Me 2050," and then futuristic Cybertruck-style vehicles show up. He also has a cartoon where a genie refuses a boy's wish for a bridge from California to Hawaii [3].
By the way, Cybertrucks seem to be the thing this week. [Chili Genuth](/entry/chili-genuth) clowns around a silver Cybertruck by a lake, sits in the truck bed, and shouts through a red megaphone.
Simchas, Cossacks and Drops
[Sruly Rosenberg](/entry/sruly-rosenberg), the "Melech HaStatusim," brings the simcha. Men in blue coats and tall blue-and-white hats dance through a packed hall, captioned "Breslov's Cossacks." Then there's a "sof hora" and a singer with a keyboardist and a sax player, captioned simply "vibe" [4].
[Kalmy Schwartz](/entry/kalmy-schwartz) keeps it short: "best drops," "plain good," "get up, work hard." Nothing more needed.
From the Airplane to the Supermarket
On the Perlowitz Show, two guys joke around on stage at an "Agent Appreciation Event." The line making the rounds goes: "I'm a Chasidish Yid, I'm not allowed to look at the screen on the plane... but my neighbor's?"
[Efraim Feder](/entry/efraim-feder) walks through a supermarket talking to the camera, stopping by the snack shelves.
And [Mendy Unger](/entry/mendy-unger) of withmendy talks to the camera from a car's passenger seat at night, while a worker in a high-visibility vest shows up outside.
And tomorrow morning? Nine-thirty again.
