Kol Halashon offers free Torah shiurim by telephone 24 hours a day, and today online and via an app. It began in Israel and the UK; in 2005 the U.S. phone system was set up with the Israeli staff, with Rabbi Mordechai Silber of Toldos Yehuda Stutchin as the first U.S. maggid shiur. A 2009 Yeshiva World News report said the archive exceeded 180,000 shiurim from over 500 speakers in English, Yiddish, Hebrew, French, Spanish, Russian and Farsi, calling it the largest audio shiur collection in the world, with shiurim shared nightly between Israel, the UK and the U.S.
