El'ad is a city in Israel about 25 km east of Tel Aviv on Route 444 between Rosh HaAyin and Shoham, with a population of 50,846 in 2024.
It is the only locality in Israel officially designated a religious municipality. The name means "Forever God" and also recalls a member of the tribe of Ephraim who lived in the area (1 Chronicles 7:21). Construction began in the late 1990s. Today it is a lively city of families, shuls, kollelim and Talmud Torahs, Ashkenazi and Sephardi alike.
