Le Hazon Ish (Rabbi Avraham Yeshaya Karelitz) מרן החזון איש זצ"ל

Rabbi Avraham Yeshaya Karelitz was born on November 7, 1878 in Belarus and passed away on October 24, 1953. He is known as the Chazon Ish after his 23-volume magnum opus on halacha.

After settling in the Land of Israel in 1933, he became one of the most influential Haredi rabbis of his generation. He tackled complex modern halachic questions, introduced a standard set of halachic measurements, and wrote extensively on the agricultural laws of the Land, such as shemitah.
