Rabbi Dr. Akiva Tatz ר' עקיבא טאץ

Rabbi Dr. Akiva Tatz was born in Johannesburg and graduated from the University of the Witwatersrand Medical School with distinction in surgery, practicing in South Africa and the U.S. before moving to Israel, where he worked in Jerusalem. Not raised observant, he became a baal teshuva as an adult. He is a prominent speaker and writer in Orthodox outreach and an expert in Jewish medical ethics, on staff at the Jewish Learning Exchange and Ohr Somayach, lecturing to Jewish student groups across the UK, including an annual medical ethics conference.
